Roald Dahl Day

Roald Dahl Day takes place on Wednesday 13th September, 2017, at Brailsford, and we would like to invite you to join us in helping your child to make the most of this special occasion.

Roald Dahl Day celebrates the life and works of Roald Dahl and also the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children.

Nurseries, schools and libraries across the UK celebrate Roald Dahl Day with a huge range of events and activities. As part of our celebrations, we are asking the children to come to school on Wednesday, 13th September dressed as a character from any Roald Dahl book.

Please drop off your child at Brailsford for 9am and collect your child from Brailsford at 3.30pm.

You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for all books as well as Roald Dahl books by reading together regularly and joining your local library if you are not yet members. For more information about Roald Dahl Day, visit

Children are never too young to start their journey with books, and we feel the wonderful stories of Roald Dahl’s are a great way to start —so we hope, like us, you will use Roald Dahl Day to celebrate it with your child.
